ALASDAIR BECKETT-KING

Alasdair Beckett-King is an award-winning and multiple award-losing stand up comedian.

He won the New Acts of the Year Show (formerly Hackney Empire) in 2014, and has performed comedy on BBC radio and at the Glastonbury festival. He knows quite a lot about 19th century magicians. Tourists often ask to have their photo taken with him, presumably impressed by this.

“One to Watch” - Time Out
”A bold and fresh comedy voice” - The Stage
“A suave stand up with some killer lines” - Arthur Smith

ANDREW O'NEILL

Andrew O'Neill is a stand-up comedian, a metalhead, an amateur occultist and a musician. He's pretty much been a show off since birth! He's a vegan, as you can tell by the fact that he has a lithe, sinewy body. He's a heterosexual transvestite, as you can tell by the fact that he wears female clothes and fancys girls. He's not a goth.

"The very definition of alternative" (The Guardian)

"One of the funniest comedians on the circuit at the moment ... hitting new heights of comedic brilliance" (TimeOut)

"So funny I put him in my new TV show" (Steve Coogan)

ANGIE BELCHER

Angie is a stand-up poet equally at home headlining on the stand –up circuit as in a posh tent in a literature festival. Angie presents dirty stanzas and awkward observations about approaching 40 via Agnosticism, angry computers and puppies. Her live work is fruity and not for the faint hearted. An accomplished comedy actor and writer, Angie has performed and written for screen and radio.

“Funny, crude and incredibly charming” Word of Mouth.

"Like Pam Ayres with attitude and an adult audience” Bristol Evening Post

CARL DONNELLY

Carl started performing stand-up in 2005 and quickly established himself as one of the UK’s most exciting young comedians. His conversational, silly sense of humour saw him win a host of awards (Chortle Best Newcomer 2007,Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2007 among others) and become a regular at all of the finest comedy clubs in the UK and Ireland.

In 2009, Carl performed his debut solo show 'Relax Everyone, it's Carl Donnelly!' at the Edinburgh Fringe for which he was nominated for the 'Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer'. Since then, Carl has returned to Edinburgh with two further solo shows and is set to return to the Festival this year with a new show, after his nomination in 2013 for the Fosters Comedy award.

Recently, Carl has been developing as an international act, with a successful tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2013 and a second coming up this year, as well as performing at the biggest comedy festivals in the world (Montreal Just for LaughsMelbourne International Comedy FestivalSydney Comedy FestivalKilkenny Cat Laughs etc).

Carl has also appeared on various TV shows including Mock The Week,Dave's One Night StandStand Up for the WeekRussell Howard’s Good News and Comedy Store. He is also a regular on radio appearing as a guest on such shows as BBC 5live’s 'The Back End of Next Week', Radio 4’s 'Loose Ends' and 'Act Your Age' as well as being a regular guest on talkSPORT. He has also recently started co-hosting a radio show for the Fubar Radio app after his acclaimed podcast which he recorded with Chris Martin.

"Excellent, fast-rising comic with pacy anecdotal routines" - Sunday Times

"Donnelly has developed a style that is the antithesis of the loud, sweaty, manic comic so prevalent on the telly and live tours at the moment. This is stand up with valium: near horizontal levels of louche that take the mundane stories of everyday life and turns them into stretches of self deprecating silliness" - The Guardian

As well as supporting the likes of Milton Jones, Pete Firman and Stewart Francis on several UK tours, Chris' debut solo show was awarded the 'Best Show' award at Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival 2012.

As well as television, Jake spent three years working on the 6Music Breakfast Show, writing, performing and producing hourly songs and sketches. He also wrote and performed Pleased to Meet You for BBC Radio 4Extra, in which he played a little old lady called Dora Dale. Who was pretty fruity.

JAMES HATELY

Psychedelic revolutionary? Beard on stilts? Whilst many stand-ups put reality under a microscope so we can laugh at it from all angles, James takes reality, melts it down, and moulds it into something no more sensible. Prepare to laugh and then scratch your head wondering what just happened. Magners Pub Comedian of the Year finalist, two times performer at the Green Man festival, Brighton and Bristol Vegfest regular.

Jim Daly

A newcomer to the comedy circuit, Jim has been bringing his mix of jokes and songs to audiences across London since May 2012. Thankfully a life of being a complete idiot prior to May 2012 has provided plenty of material. A Golden Jester semi-finalist in 2013, Jim has supported the likes of Doc Brown, Holly Walsh and Kevin Day and returns to VegFest after performing at Brighton and Bristol last year.

Michael Legge

Michael is a man who does stand up comedy. No matter what, you can't take that away from him. He's performed all over the world even supporting Dylan Moran in Moscow. That was fun. You should have been there. He's also been tour support for Alexei Sayle and Stewart Lee and he was (quite frankly) the shining, shining star of Stewart's Alternative Comedy Experience on Comedy Central. Michael is the writer of his very own award winning grumpy blog and Do The Right Thing, the panel show podcast that he's the token man in, won a Sony Award.

25 year old comedian Michael is also 75% of the double act Pointless Anger Righteous Ire with Robin Ince and those two hunks even have their own music podcast, Vitriola. "The hidden gem of the live comedy circuit" - The Guardian.

Mike Kelson

Mike, a vegetarian and animal rights campaigner since school, is a relative newcomer to stand-up, although a seasoned live performer, having played over a thousand gigs over the years with band TUFF, who he still sings with.

Comedy appearances at clubs (including a number at the London Comedy club) and festivals in the last couple of years have helped hone his act however, and his cheeky style is a hit with varied audiences.

SONJA QUITA DOUBLEDAY

Sonja Quita Doubleday is Cheekykita an exciting, ridiculous, physical female comedian, who regularly performs on the alternative comedy circuit. There are not many female comedy performers as brave as Cheekykita, who is a master at the surreal and physical side of comedy (or whatever you want to call it. It sort of defies definition). She has been performing comedy for the last three years with a background in Dance and fringe theatre also singing in many punk bands! This year she has solo shows at Leicester comedy festival, Brighton and Prague Fringe and also Edinburgh Fringe. She also performs in clown troupe Le Flop.

‘Immense, sensational, and sublime, people loved it and are still talking about her’ - The Goodfather comedy
‘A wonderful, silly, surreal, frantic and fantastical little show’ - 4 stars Edfringe review
‘Inspiring, bold, brave and totally ridiculous and that’s why I love it.’ - Doctor Brown

Will Setchell

Will Setchell is a lost Scotsman who's spent the last 5 years gigging his way up and down the country before finally finding himself in Manchester. His comedy covers almost every topic, from stories of childhood and traveling through to politics, animal rights and occasionally Werner Herzog. He was shortlisted for the BBC new comedy award in 2012 and once got a free portion of chips in a bar in Yorkshire (which seemed like more of an achievement at the time.)

Here's some nice things other people have said about him:

“...charming personality and some seriously strong jokes. Definitely an act to look out for.” - Student Journals.

“Setchell's breathless storytelling is timed perfectly… should have a far bigger stage, and very very soon” – The Skinny Magazine ****

“An exciting and strangely likeable comic” - bluesbunny.com
